Amuno

Rural communities already hold the power to change a child’s future.

Amuno equips local youth, brings joyful learning closer to children and strengthens families, so every rural child can go, stay and excel in school and life.

Communities are not waiting for heroes.

They already have young leaders, trusted relationships and the determination to act. Amuno adds training, tools and connection, turning local potential into a learning system the village can own.

One connected model

Children learn. Youth lead. Families grow stronger.

Education cannot thrive in isolation. Our programmes work together to address the learning, confidence and household barriers that shape a rural child’s future.

01

Youth Voices Fellowship

Village youth aged 13–18 build leadership, debate, facilitation and trainer-of-trainers skills, then put them to work where they live.

02

Mobile after-school learning

Fellows travel by bicycle with books and play resources to facilitate literacy, numeracy and life-skills sessions for children aged 3–12.

03

Family economic power

Mothers and caregivers gain hands-on livelihood skills and organise communal savings and loans to reduce barriers to children’s education.

Learning travels on bicycles in rural communities

Learning travels.

On weekends, public holidays and school breaks.

Built for rural reality

When distance is the barrier, learning gets on a bicycle.

Trained youth carry books and play resources into their own villages. Familiar spaces become joyful learning places, and children receive support from people who understand their language, culture and daily lives.

Local youth are selected and trained annually
Children learn through play and at the right level
No formal classroom is required
Families and local leaders help sustain each learning space
Our theory of change

Invest in the whole village, not one isolated intervention.

If we empower rural youth to take joyful learning into their own villages, give children platforms to build skills and confidence, and strengthen families to support their education, then rural children will have what they need to go to school, stay in school, and excel in school and life.
